Pop/Click noise happens on a Windows PC.

Please check the following items:

  • Open “Preferences” in the Options menu and click “Hardware” tab. Move “Response” setting toward “Slow” side. This increases latency but not by much.

  • If other applications or programs are running, quit them all.
  • Set the Windows setting as “Adjust for best performance”.
    • Windows XP
      1. Click “Start” then choose “Control Panel”.
      2. Click “Performance and Maintenance”.
      3. Click “System”.
      4. Click “Advanced” in the “System Properties”
      5. Click “Settings” button in the performance.
      6. Click “Visual Effects” tab.
      7. Click to check “Adjust for best performance”.
    • Windows Vista
      1. Click “Start” then choose “Control Panel”
      2. Click “System and Maintenance”.
      3. Click “System”.
      4. Click “Advanced system settings” in the “Tasks”.
      5. Click “Advanced” tab.
      6. Click “Settings…” button in the performance.
      7. Click “Visual Effects” tab.
      8. Click to check “Adjust for best performance”.
    • Windows 7
      1. Click “Start” then choose “Control Panel”
      2. Click “Control Panel”
      3. Click “System and Maintenance”.
      4. Click “System”.
      5. Click “Advanced system settings” in the “Tasks”.
      6. Click “Settings…” button in the performance.
      7. Click “Visual Effects” tab.
      8. Click to check “Adjust for best performance”.
    • Windows 8 
      1. Move your mouse pointer to the lower left of the desktop. Your Start button will be displayed.
      2. Right Click the Start button.
      3. Click “Control Panel”
      4. Click “System and Maintenance”.
      5. Click “System”.
      6. Click “Advanced system settings” in the “Tasks”.
      7. Click “Settings…” button in the performance.
      8. Click “Visual Effects” tab.
      9. Click to check “Adjust for best performance”.
